The IT Cost Analyst operates under the IT Administration Unit, which is a part of the IT Governance department. The IT Administration Unit is responsible for all procurement, invoice processing, budgeting and forecasting, and oversight of asset management programs. The Atlas Air IT department is responsible for an annual budget of $60m and generates about 28k of General Ledger entries per year. The IT Cost Analyst position plays a key role in describing both cost and benefits of IT platforms and initiatives and creates reports that are shared with senior staff in IT, sponsoring business units and financial planning and analysis departments. The incumbent will produce high quality reports and dashboards that are thoroughly reviewed by project sponsors and management to determine project financial goals, progress, and retroactive degree of project success. Using Nicus Cost Modeling tools, the Cost Analyst must feed data and sequencing instructions that enable full allocation of IT expenditures into value statements for executives to consume in their decision-making and approval processes. will perform both routine and dynamic studies of project proposals, IT infrastructure unit costs, The position will perform key gathering and analysis of IT spend, consumption, and service delivery metrics in order to provide a central source for monitoring IT’s business performance and decision-support data. Cost information is translated from the entire IT landscape, The scope of this position requires both technical skills in working with data and accounting as well as knowledge of the IT service delivery models and components. This position interacts extensively with the staff, assets, and contracts within the IT department and executes on behalf of the IT needs and goals. In addition to Excel, Ariba, and Nicus as the financial tools, this position will actively use 3rd party portals, IT service ticketing system, Active Directory rosters, and other internal IT management tools to gather and validate information.
