Overview

The Regional Manager, North America for Ground Operations will be responsible for coordination and oversight of Atlas activity in the Region. Providing guidance to the company with regards to new and existing regulatory issues as well as maintaining safe, compliant and timely operations. This individual will coordinate closely with our local regional staff, and regulatory agencies to foster a beneficial long term relationship and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordination of expansion and oversight within North America for cargo related ACMI, CMI and Charter operations.
  • Responsible for maintaining, supporting and improving the overall regional station operation to support all business units of the company.
  • Responsible for compliance of all safety regulations and requirements pertaining to the station, aircraft, facilities, equipment and personnel.
  • Ensures all employees and vendors are aware of corporate goals and expectations.
  • Interacts with all customers and vendors to ensure proper training in company requirements and procedures.
  • Monitors all regional contracts to ensure all vendors are complying with all contract provisions and service level agreements.
  • Meets with customers and vendors on a regular basis to discuss potential problem areas and the entire scope of the company. Resolves issues arising from vendors, crews, hotels, catering, maintenance, fuelers, ground handlers, or customers.
  • Monitors and evaluates work performance of all company employees assigned to the station and provides constructive feedback through structured meetings and SMART goals
  • Interfaces with local airport authorities and internal Ground Ops teams to ensure company compliance with all local policies.
  • Highly proficient in keeping costs of station operations at a minimum, seeks ways to drive efficiency and e-initiatives to streamline processes and reduce handling
  • Complete a monthly assessment of port and supplier performance and identify service trends that can impact the operation and brand
  • Work with the Director Station Operations to analyze and generate regional reports related to supplier performance and service trends
  • Drive improvement to meet or exceed set service targets and service levels
  • Work with assigned station clusters to drive port performance and raise service awareness
  • Identify potential risks related to service levels, non-conformance and compliance matters
  • Actively support investigations into safety and service irregularities and incidents
  • Serve as a regional process improvement specialist to drive efficiency and quality
  • Support individual clustered ports with operational needs as directed by the Director Station Operations
  • Maintain good communication with the Director Station Operations related to port visits, service items and regional services
  • Provide support to the various internal departments as needed
  • Work on complex projects as needed and directed by the Director Station Operations
  • Support the launch of new stations, customers or products
  • Anticipate and identify future service and manpower needs, standardise and implement procedures, recommend and conduct training of cargo team members and suppliers
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and training records for the port and suppliers
  • Perform additional duties assigned by Director of Station Operations, Americas

Qualifications

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent relevant experience required  
  • Experience in all group aircraft types and cargo operations.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in all phases of cargo operations including ACMI, Scheduled Service and Charter operations, commercial and military.
  • Experience and knowledge with Customs transmissions, EDI messaging and functionality.
  • Minimum 8 years of extensive airline operational experience serving in a regional capacity or large volume operation
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • Able to perform all aspects of Ground and Cargo Operations including Loadmaster, handling hazardous materials, de-icing, fueling, catering, security, etc.
  • Ability to organize and perform multiple assignments in a high stress environment.
  • Ability to interact, communicate and maintain customer relationships.
  • Skilled problem solver with leadership qualities.
  • Excellent communication and decision making skills.
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills, must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)and internal software.
  • Strong written communication skills.

Salary Range: $106,200- $143,400

 

Financial offer within the stated range is contingent on the qualification of selected candidates
