Overview

This position is responsible for accurately tracking and properly accounting for company’s inventory of spare parts in all warehouse, FSK locations, and in-transit transfers, complying with all financial, quality, and regulatory requirements related to inventory control and movement of materials. This position will also control freight costs, review invoices for correct allocation of costs, and establish policies and controls to minimize transportation expenses.

Responsibilities

Operations

  • Directly responsible for the day-to-day assignments and performance for team managing Transportation, Freight Cost Control, Trade Compliance, Inventory Reconciliation, Process Improvement and Control, Missing Assets, FSK and Third Party inventory control, and Inventory Integrity.
  • Monitor and report on FSK inventories, ensuring and reporting both completion, accuracy and quality at both A-Cks and enhanced checks
  • Support the order desk team in arranging transportation options in spot bids for large and complex shipments.
  • Work with finance and accounting reviewing freight invoices ensuring that costs are correctly allocated and charge backs/disputes/insurance are filed as needed
  • Work with mx and records to ensure any components at unstaffed stations are cleared through the pending process
  • Work with procurement to develop providers to achieve optimal transportation modes, routing, and frequency
  • Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of necessary journal entries and period accruals and approval of department journal entries.

Compliance

  • Lead review and sign-off of missing asset forms ensuring that procedures are followed to prevent loss of inventory.
  • Investigate material losses in shipment, implement applicable corrective actions, and pursue compensatory remedies, as applicable
  • Coordinate cycle counts for all inventory with assistance from the controllers group in and compliance with company controls
  • Provide monthly SOX control reports and ensure that the department is fulfilling the SOX control targets.
  • Assist in quarterly reviews/year-end audits with internal and external auditors
  • Provide information requested by government agencies related to the import and export of aircraft spare parts.
  • Assure compliance with US Customs import regulations and implement entry accuracy review procedures to verify country of origin, verify if any free trade agreement applies to entry, correct tariff classification and declared value
  • Monitor the accuracy the completeness of record keeping of airworthiness certs and entry packets.

Process Improvement

  • Promote automation and technology improvements for inventory control and shipment tracking
  • Support the development of environmental and social responsibility initiatives
  • Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low
  • Analyze data and recommend operational changes as needed to ensure dispatch reliability.
  • Develop stores and logistics performance tracking and process control dashboards
  • Develop process for monitoring the accuracy and completeness of record keeping for airworthiness certs and entry packets.

 

Other

  • Serve as the primary contact with other Technical Operations departments, such as Technical Records, Maintenance, Quality Control, Stores, Engineering, etc.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Stores and Logistics
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and company policies

Salary Range: $71,000 - $83,500

 

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 – 7 years of related experience in asset control and logistics processes
  • 3 – 4 years of management experience required
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills, including Microsoft Office suite and other applications as required by business needs
