Overview

Assist the records team in the administration of the powerplant tracking program and ensures the accuracy of the data being tracked.  This position is responsible for maintaining paper and computerized technical records in accordance with Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 121.380 and General Maintenance Manual requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains all records transactions (regulatory) to ensure that the required powerplant records are received and analyzed for accuracy in connection with all applicable maintenance events.
  • Provide records' discrepancies' reports to internal and external customers when required. The discrepancy reports are provided electronically, highlighting a quality or safety concern that could impact the component's approval for installation.  This technical review is a safety precaution to ensure the safe operation of all engine Life Limited Parts (LLP) and Hard Time components (HT). 
  • Compile, and review the Life Limited Parts' (LLPs) back-to-birth documents following FAA, CFR, Company's phase-in required documents, service bulletins, and dimensional measurement reports.
  • Performs electronic/hard copy powerplant records archiving powerplant-related maintenance documents, including overhaul shop visit packages, component certifications, and routine and non-routine powerplant records. Retrieves all internal/external customers' document requests of requested data when needed from AirVault.
  • Responsible for reviewing, auditing, maintaining, and quality control of powerplant data in Trax and excel audit trackers.
  • Read and interpret Airworthiness Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB) to ensure the vendor's and previous operator's AD reports follow all established limits, regulatory compliance, and other required limits.
  • Interpret the Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) for verification and clarification of Engines and Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) part number and their effectivity and limits.
  • Review & audit engines and Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) shop visit documents, generate a discrepancy report and scorecard for our vendor's documents quality improvement purposes.
  • The daily process of Line Replacement Unit (LRU) removal and installation include the parts "On Hold" & Pending," which provides for reviewing the part's certification, part number effectivity & clarity.
  • Perform Engine, APU, and internal components regulatory audits to ensure all time-controlled requirements are accounted for when transferring components within the airline.
  • Compile data and generate a monthly usage report of all APUs & leased engine hours and cycles.
  • Perform regulatory compliance audits and maintain the current status of Powerplant Life Limited Parts (LLP) and (Airworthiness directives).
  • Perform Back to Birth (BTB) reviews according to company requirements to ensure all commercial and regulatory trace meet contractual requirements.
  • Compile and process required data for engine health analysis, including the fan and core vibration, (V1& V2) Fuel Flow, and Engine Gas temperature (EGT) margin.
  • Other duties as assigned and directed by the Supervisor, Powerplant Records.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or five years experience in the aviation industry preferred.
  • Desired, but not required - aircraft engine knowledge, specifically with the GE CF6-80, GENX 2B, CFM-56, GE-90s engines, and APUs preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple duties/priorities daily; ability to function effectively under deadlines and maintain accuracy; able to keep up in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Solid writing, communication, and computer skills are required.  Computer literate, knowledge of Microsoft Office Software programs.  (Excel, Word, Trax)
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and outstanding organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead team members; self-motivated; 'Can do' attitude.

Salary Range: $52,500- $71,000

 

 

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset.
