Overview

The Manager, System Operations Training & Standards is responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and administration of System Operations standards, manuals, bulletins, policies, and procedures. This role ensures all documentation is accurate, current, and effectively distributed across the organization. The Manager serves as the primary point of contact for both internal and external audits and inspections related to System Operations.

 

In addition, the position leads the onboarding, initial, and recurrent training programs for Global Control Center (GCC) team members and supports ongoing training and professional development initiatives across all System Operations teams. The Manager plays a key role in maintaining operational consistency, compliance, and performance excellence through effective training and standards management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead training and standards programs for all System Operations teams, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and publish System Operations manuals, bulletins, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Develop training materials, design processes, and contribute to organizational effectiveness by aligning departmental goals and objectives with overall corporate strategies.
  • Recommend and participate in the development of company policies and strategic initiatives to support operational excellence.
  • Exercise authority in determining requirements, setting priorities, and driving efforts to achieve key operational results.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director, System Operations Planning & Performance, on revisions and updates to manuals, compliance content, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with Document Services to oversee manual revision processes, ensuring procedures and guidelines effectively support the efficient management of Atlas Air operations.
  • Oversee quality assurance for System Operations activities, including work product validation, data accuracy, and audit requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Airline Operations or aviation industry
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of operational manuals and procedures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for preparing training materials, manuals, and policy documentation.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions under time-sensitive operational conditions.

Salary Range: $73,000-$98,500
